About

Hey,

Welcome to my site! I’m Cort, I’m a husband, high school lacrosse coach, and a fee-based wealth advisor. I also moonlight as a stuntman when the opportunity arises.

Though originally from Los Angeles, CA, I spent 4 amazing years in Salt Lake City, Utah getting a degree in Finance with a minor in Economics. At 18, I purchased my first home in SLC where I spent my last three years living with some incredible friends (photos seen at the bottom)! I had an incredible internship at Crewe Advisors in Salt Lake that inspired me to continue to pursue the wealth management space.

I married my high school sweetheart, Addi, in the fall of 2022 and, shortly afterwards, we headed east to Wilmington, NC. No job lined up, didn’t know anyone, but we figured, “Why not?”. In 2023, I got brought on as an assistant lacrosse coach at a local high school, and by the end of the season, I was the head lacrosse coach! (Ask me in person and I’ll explain) I have remained at the helm ever since, and I love it!

As much as I love coaching, it doesn’t exactly pay the bills, so the job search continued. Addi began her own photography business (and has become quite successful, check out her page on Instagram @aaddislens). Soon, I found an independent wealth management firm that was willing to take a chance on a recent graduate. I’ve been operating as a wealth advisor ever since!

My goal is to help my clients manage, maintain, and build their wealth. But, I also strive to help people better understand their finances and how it all works within the ecosystem of their life. I want my clients to feel like they have an understanding of what the plan is moving forward. One way I do that is by breaking down subjects into easily digested pieces during our meetings. Another way is through my Instagram page(@cort_rogers) where I try and make my knowledge as accessible as possible. Lastly, would be my newsletter which contains various personal touches along with some financial education pieces.

What is this website?

This website is a compiling of some of the interests of mine that I figured I’d try and share with people. It is for no one but myself. If no one was to ever see this website, I would be okay with that. I’m a fairly reticent person, so putting myself on a public domain is not my first instinct. But my hope to use this space to connect with potential clients, as a creative outlet, and to give myself a platform to launch ideas from. If even one person was to learn something, find a new artist to listen to, or pick up a new book to read that would be amazing!

Feel free to reach out to me with any ideas or stories or just simply to say “hello!”
